Just recently, JW Marriott Hotel decided to revamp its’ lobby terrace area to a tea bistro, named Chaiholics. Originated from Singapore, Chaiholics is a food & beverage spot, specializing in tea creations.
Chaiholics uses hand-grown exotic tea from a pesticide-free garden located in Himalayan mountains, a place where Honourable Dalai Lama sips his teas. Up to this moment, Chaiholics serves 6 different natural spiced flavors, Classic Masala, Zesty Ginger, Refreshing Lemongrass, Aromatic Cardamom, Summer Rose, and Chocolate-T.
As a tea person, I was beyond excited to have my afternoon tea here!
Chaiholics – Tea Bistro at JW Marriott Hotel, Jakarta
The bistro concept was an open space. They have several elegant tables, which can accommodate up to 70 seats. Ambiance was super nice! Love the fact that we can drink the tea while enjoying Jakarta’s breeze~
What special in Chaiholics is that they have this *cool* tea-machine a.k.a Chaipresso. Yes, one of their favorite menu is the Chai Latte (Rp65.000). I tasted the Refreshing Lemongrass flavored chai latte, a refreshing blend of black tea with aromatic lemongrass and hint of ginger.
After tasting some of their tea infused drinks, I gotta say that my favorite is The Special (Rp65.000). Premium black tea, blended with sweet mango puree and zesty lemon. Just as the description said, it really is refreshing and sweet! Perfect!
Sweet & Savory Delight Options
If you have a sweet tooth, do try their Gourmet Soft Serves! Their Tea-Infused Soft Serve Summer Rose with cone (Rp55.000), melts flawlessly in my mouth.
Besides the soft serves, Chaiholics also has various kinds of cakes! From classic Strawberry Cheesecake, Black Forest, and other signature eggless cakes. Choose your favorite to accompany your tea time here!
As a savory delights lover, I prefer the Chicken Curry Puff (Rp46.000) , Beef Oxtail Samosas (Rp90.000), and Balinese Fish Pockets (Rp85.000). To fulfill your empty tummy, you can go with Oxtail Sambal Koja (Rp165.000), Croque Madame (Rp155.000), or Chicken Tikka Croissant (Rp155.000).
For light bites, my favorite is the Balinese Fish Pockets! Fish pitas spiced with bumbu Bali. It has the strong taste that fits my Indonesian tongue!
Overall, I had a really pleasant dining experience in Chaiholics! My taste-bud was beyond happy! The price was a bit high for me, though.
